1Account aur screen
canva.com pe jaao ya phone pe Canva app install karo, aur Google account se sign up karo. Free plan kaafi hai; jo cheez Pro mein hai uspe chhota crown ka nishaan hota hai.
Design kholne ke baad screen ke hisse:
- Left panel: Design (templates), Elements (shapes, icons, photos), Text, Uploads (apni photos), Apps.
- Beech mein: canvas (tumhara page).
- Upar: jo cheez select ho, uski settings (font, rang, size, position).
- Upar right: Share, jahan se Download hota hai.
2Pehla design
Ek dukaan ke "New arrival" post se shuru karte hain.
- Home pe "Create a design", phir "Instagram Post (Square)" chuno.
- Left mein Design se koi saada template chuno (bahut bhara hua nahi).
- Text pe double-click karke apni line likho: "Naya stock aa gaya!"
- Uploads se apni ek photo daalo ya Elements mein free photo dhundho.
- Share, phir Download, file type PNG, Download dabao.
3Kaam ke shortcuts
- Ctrl/Cmd + D: select ki hui cheez ki copy.
- Shift dabake drag: seedhi line mein khiskaana.
- Position (upar menu): align center, left, aage-peeche layer.
- Undo: Ctrl/Cmd + Z.
- Laptop pe kaam tez hota hai, par phone pe bhi poora course ho sakta hai.

Maan lo Simran ne pehle din bas ek "Sunday offer" post Canva template se bana ke apni chachi ki boutique ke WhatsApp status pe lagaya. Teen customers ne usi post ka screenshot bhej ke poochha. Chachi ne kaha har hafte 3 post banao. Wahi uski pehli design practice aur pehla "client" tha.

- Template ko bina badle use karna; sab ek jaisa dikhta hai.
- Crown wale Pro elements daal ke download pe atak jaana; free elements chuno.

Canva is a free online design tool that works on both phones and laptops. It is not as hard as Photoshop, but used the right way it gives professional work. Today you will create an account, understand the screen and export your first post.
1Account and screen
Go to canva.com or install the Canva app on your phone, and sign up with a Google account. The free plan is enough; anything that is Pro has a small crown on it.
After opening a design, the parts of the screen:
- Left panel: Design (templates), Elements (shapes, icons, photos), Text, Uploads (your photos), Apps.
- Middle: the canvas (your page).
- Top: settings for whatever is selected (font, colour, size, position).
- Top right: Share, where Download is.
2Your first design
Let us start with a shop's "New arrival" post.
- On the home page, "Create a design", then choose "Instagram Post (Square)".
- Pick a simple template from Design on the left (not a crowded one).
- Double-click the text and write your line: "New stock has arrived!"
- Add one of your photos from Uploads or find a free photo in Elements.
- Share, then Download, file type PNG, click Download.
3Useful shortcuts
- Ctrl/Cmd + D: duplicate the selected item.
- Hold Shift and drag: move in a straight line.
- Position (top menu): align centre, left, bring forward/back.
- Undo: Ctrl/Cmd + Z.
- Work is faster on a laptop, but you can do the whole course on a phone too.
Example: Say: a design that earned
Say on her first day Simran made just one "Sunday offer" post from a Canva template and put it on her aunt's boutique's WhatsApp status. Three customers sent a screenshot of that same post to ask about it. Her aunt said to make 3 posts every week. That was her first design practice and her first "client".
Common mistakes
- Using a template unchanged; everything looks the same.
- Adding crown (Pro) elements and getting stuck at download; choose free elements.
- Posting without checking that small text is readable on a phone.
Practice task
Make one Instagram square post for any business: a headline, a photo, a short line (like an address or offer). Download it as PNG.
