What an AI chatbot is, what it can and cannot doAI chatbot kya hai, kya kar sakta hai, kya nahi

ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini jaise AI chatbots ne likhne, samjhaane aur sochne ke kaam bahut tez kar diye hain. Par ye jaadu ya "sab jaanne wala dimaag" nahi hain. Inka sahi istemaal tab hota hai jab tum jaanate ho ki ye kahan achhe hain aur kahan galti karte hain.

1Ye kaise kaam karte hain (simple mein)

Ye Large Language Models (LLM) hain. Inhone bahut saara likha hua text padh ke ye seekha hai ki shabd aur baatein aam taur pe kaise aage badhti hain. Tum sawaal poochhte ho, ye ek-ek shabd karke jawab banate hain jo "sahi lagta" hai.

Isliye:
- Bhasha, likhna, samjhaana, idea dena: bahut achhe.
- Facts, naye number, kanoon, daam: galti kar sakte hain, aur woh bhi bade confidence se. Ise "hallucination" kehte hain.

2Kahan achhe, kahan sambhal ke

Achhe:
- Message/email ka draft, tone badalna
- Lambe text ka saar
- Mushkil topic ko aasaan bhasha mein samjhaana
- Ideas, list, plan, outline
- Excel formula, chhota code
- Translation aur Hinglish

Sambhal ke (hamesha check karo):
- Tax, kanoon, medical, paisa
- Aaj ki khabar, daam, dates
- Kisi insaan ke baare mein jaankari
- Maths ka bada hisaab (calculator se milao)

3Sahi soch

AI ko ek tez, mehnati intern samjho: kaam jaldi karta hai, par uska kaam tumhe check karna hai. Final zimmedaari tumhari.

  1. Kisi bhi AI tool mein poochho: "Mujhe 5 tareeke batao jinse ek college student roz 1 ghanta bacha sake."
  2. Jawab padho aur do kaam ke points chuno.
  3. Ab poochho: "India mein aaj petrol ka daam kya hai?" Dekho woh kya kehta hai; kya woh source deta hai ya kehta hai ki pakka nahi pata?
  4. Note karo: kaunsa jawab tum bina check kiye maan sakte ho, kaunsa nahi.

Example: Maan lo: galat date

Aam galtiyan

  • AI ke har jawab ko sach maan lena.
  • Kanoon, tax, dawai ke faisle sirf AI ke kehne pe.
  • AI ko "Google" samajhna; dono alag kaam ke liye hain.

Practice task

Ek AI tool mein 5 sawaal poochho: 2 likhne ke, 1 samjhaane ka, 2 fact wale (daam/date). Har jawab ke aage likho: bharosa (haan/check karna padega).

Jaldi se recap

  • LLM = shabd ka pattern seekha hua
  • Achha: likhna, saar, samjhaana, ideas, formula
  • Check: tax, kanoon, medical, daam, dates
  • Hallucination = confident galti
  • AI = intern, final zimmedaari tumhari

AI chatbots like ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini have made writing, explaining and thinking work much faster. But they are not magic or an "all-knowing brain". You use them well when you know where they are good and where they make mistakes.

1How they work (simply)

They are Large Language Models (LLMs). By reading huge amounts of text, they learned how words and ideas usually continue. You ask a question, and they build an answer one word at a time that "seems right".

So:
- Language, writing, explaining, ideas: very good.
- Facts, recent numbers, laws, prices: can be wrong, and with great confidence. This is called "hallucination".

2Where they shine, where to be careful

Good at:
- Drafting messages/emails, changing tone
- Summarising long text
- Explaining hard topics in simple language
- Ideas, lists, plans, outlines
- Excel formulas, small pieces of code
- Translation and Hinglish

Be careful (always check):
- Tax, law, medical, money
- Today's news, prices, dates
- Information about a specific person
- Big maths calculations (check with a calculator)

3The right mindset

Think of AI as a fast, hard-working intern: it works quickly, but you have to check its work. The final responsibility is yours.

  1. In any AI tool, ask: "Give me 5 ways a college student can save 1 hour a day."
  2. Read the answer and pick two useful points.
  3. Now ask: "What is the price of petrol in India today?" See what it says; does it give a source or say it is not sure?
  4. Note: which answer can you accept without checking, and which not?

Example: Say: the wrong date

Say Amit asked AI for the last date of a government exam. The AI confidently gave a date, which turned out to be last year's. On the official site, the date was different. Amit learned: prepare with AI, but take dates and rules only from official sources.

Common mistakes

  • Treating every AI answer as true.
  • Making law, tax or medicine decisions only because AI said so.
  • Treating AI like "Google"; they are for different jobs.

Practice task

Ask an AI tool 5 questions: 2 about writing, 1 asking for an explanation, 2 factual (a price/date). Next to each answer write: trust (yes/needs checking).

Quick recap

  • LLM = learned patterns of words
  • Good: writing, summaries, explaining, ideas, formulas
  • Check: tax, law, medical, prices, dates
  • Hallucination = a confident mistake
  • AI = intern; final responsibility is yours
